Oak Tree

Oak Tree, Oak Tree

I yearn to your ways

As you stand wind sculpted on ridgetop

Or among comrades in the glade

Oak Tree your reach

Spreads wide welcome shade

For all seeking solace

Or a cat nap ‘round mid- day

Birds find in you safety

Away up high in your bows

Gophers call it home there

And it’s “Church” to the Cows

When the wind blows you sing

Old, old Oak Tree

As if you were a fiddle

In a western jamboree

Oak Tree I thank you

For making the call

Of friendship, care, and music

Earth knowledge for all!
